Description
IMPERFORATE UNCUT SHEET OF TEN 2005 Treasures from the Archives - Modern Rarity Special release from Australia Post with issue date of 6th September 2005. The stamps depicts the WORLD'S FIRST COMMEMORATIVE stamp issued in 1888 by the State of NSW with a denomination of 20/- showing the NSW Governor Lord Carrington. Only 500 exist with 375 in MNH/MUH sheet format. Another 125 were released in a frame but were glued to a cardboard stiffner. This uncut sheet is in PERFECT mint condition with original gum. Was only available via to readers of the Australian Stamp Bulletin by phone order and SOLD OUT within hours. Many collectors missed out & is highly sought after. The sheet is an official Australia Post release and maybe the smallest number issued ever. It is GOLD numbered in the left bottom corner and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (474/500). The Imperf sheet of ten Architecture M/S was released in 2007 and the imminent release of the 2008 issue will occur on 14 Nov. Get the 2005 original issue to complete the set.
